Verus Engineering’s Swan Neck UCW Rear Wing Kit for G80 BMW M3 answers what happens once an M3 gets a front splitter: the rear goes light through fast corners. Verus rates the carbon element at up to 500 lb of downforce at 140 mph, carried on machined aluminum swan necks, the whole kit drawn from its own 3D scan of the sedan. It is a track part; for road driving alone, it is more wing than the car needs.

Design and Performance

Hung from above, the element keeps its underside clean to build the low-pressure zone that pulls the car down, and Verus reports more downforce for less drag than a bottom mount layout gives. The airfoil derives from the larger V1X and was refined in the wind tunnel.
