How does the lever on the Vandal quick release steering wheel adapter work?

The release lever stays fixed to the opposite side of the wheel and can be locked in the release position. With the lever held open, both hands stay on the rim while the wheel is lifted off or offered back up, which makes removal and refitting more controlled than on designs where the release must be held by hand.

Which version of the Vandal Quick Release do I need?

No Electronics is a purely mechanical quick release for a wheel with no wiring. Sim Racing Passthrough carries the electrical connection for sim racing wheels, and Automotive Passthrough carries it for the Vandal DSP in a vehicle. Choose by whether, and where, electrical signals need to cross from the wheel to the hub.

What steering wheels fit the Vandal Quick Release?

Wheels with the standard 6x70mm PCD pattern, which covers the Vandal Apex 320 round and flat bottom wheels. Vandal also lists the Sparco P310, the Sabelt SW732 and SW733, the Sparco R375 and R383 Champion, the Momo Mod78 at 320mm and 350mm and the Momo MonteCarlo at 350mm as confirmed fits.

Does the Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter include a hub?

No. The Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter fits between a steering hub and a 6x70mm PCD wheel, so a hub adapter for the vehicle or the wheel base is needed as well. The Vandal DSP Motorsport Steering Wheel kits for BMW and Supra already include their own hub and quick release mount.

What is the warranty on the Vandal Quick Release?

Vandal Performance lists quick releases among the accessories its Limited Warranty covers for 12 months from delivery, against defects in materials and workmanship, for parts bought from Vandal or an authorized dealer. Damage from a crash or impact and installation outside the published instructions are excluded.

Description

Vandal Performance Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter (Universal Fit)

Vandal Performance’s Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter deals with the awkward part of every wheel change. On a conventional design the release has to be held open by hand, whereas Vandal’s lever stays attached on the opposite side of the wheel and locks in the release position, leaving both hands free to hold the rim while it comes off or goes back on. It is CNC-machined from aluminum, blasted on the outside and left precision-machined on the mating surfaces to hold its tolerances, and it takes any 6x70mm PCD wheel, the Apex 320 series included. Choose the plain mechanical version unless electrical signals have to cross the joint.

Features

Release lever fixed to the opposite side of the wheel, lockable in the open position
Precision-machined locking mechanism for positive, consistent engagement through repeated use
CNC-machined aluminum body with a blasted exterior finish
Critical mating surfaces left precision-machined to preserve dimensional tolerances
Three versions: No Electronics, Sim Racing Passthrough and Automotive Passthrough for the Vandal DSP

Applications

Universal Fit: 6x70mm PCD steering wheels, including the Vandal Apex 320 series
Vandal Performance DSP: Automotive Passthrough version
Sim racing rigs: Sim Racing Passthrough version

Notes

A steering hub adapter for the vehicle or the wheel base is required and is not included
The Vandal DSP Motorsport Steering Wheel kits for the G8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4, the F8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4 and the A90 Toyota GR Supra already ship with their own quick release mount
The Vandal Apex Round Steering Wheel 320mm and Apex Flat Bottom Steering Wheel 320mm bolt directly to the Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter
On a road vehicle, replacing the factory wheel with a quick release and aftermarket wheel removes the driver airbag
Vandal’s Limited Warranty lists quick releases at 12 months from delivery

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
