What does the Vandal Flat Bottom Steering Wheel mount to?

Any hub, quick release or steering wheel system with the 6x70mm PCD pattern, including the Vandal DSP and the Vandal Quick Release. The Flat Bottom Steering Wheel ships without a hub, so a car that does not already run one of those needs a vehicle-specific hub adapter before the Apex can be fitted.

Why choose a flat bottom wheel over a round one?

A flat lower rim gives more room at the bottom of the wheel, which helps with leg clearance on entry and with a low seating position. The Apex Flat Bottom keeps the same 320mm diameter, V-Suede wrap and 6x70mm PCD as the round Apex, so the choice is about shape rather than size or fitment.

Does the Apex Flat Bottom fit the Vandal DSP?

Yes. The DSP accepts 6x70mm PCD wheels and Vandal names it as a compatible system for the Apex 320 series. On BA the DSP for the G8X and F8X BMW M2, M3 and M4 and the A90 GR Supra can be ordered with this wheel already selected.

How durable is the V-Suede wrap?

Vandal Performance selected V-Suede for feel and consistency and tested it extensively for resistance to wear and degradation, with the aim of keeping its appearance and grip through long-term street and track use. As with any suede-type rim, normal wear of the grip material is excluded from the Vandal warranty.

Is the Vandal Apex wheel covered by a warranty?

Yes. Vandal Performance gives its steering wheels a 24-month limited warranty from delivery covering defects in materials and workmanship, for wheels bought from Vandal or an authorized dealer. Crash and impact damage, cosmetic wear and normal wear of the grip surface fall outside it.

Description

Vandal Performance Apex Flat Bottom Steering Wheel 320mm (Universal Fit)

Vandal Performance’s Apex Flat Bottom Steering Wheel 320mm trims the lower rim of a compact 320mm wheel to open up room at the base of the circle, then wraps it in Vandal V-Suede and adds recessed thumb areas. It mounts on the universal 6x70mm PCD pattern, so it fits the Vandal DSP, the Vandal Quick Release and the many motorsport hubs that share that bolt circle. Vandal wear-tested the V-Suede for street and track use. The flattened base gives the legs more clearance, which matters most with a low seat; drivers who prefer a constant rim should look at the round Apex instead. On its own it is a rim, so a hub, quick release or DSP is needed to fit it.

Features

Compact 320mm diameter
Flat-bottomed rim profile for clearance at the base
Wrapped in Vandal V-Suede, tested for resistance to wear and degradation
Recessed thumb areas for a consistent hand position

Applications

Universal Fit: 6x70mm PCD hubs, quick releases and steering wheel systems
Vandal Performance DSP: G8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4, F8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4 and A90 Toyota GR Supra

Notes

The Apex Flat Bottom Steering Wheel needs a 6x70mm PCD hub, quick release or the Vandal DSP to mount it, and none comes with the wheel
Vandal offers it as an option on the DSP Motorsport Steering Wheel for the G8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4, the F8X BMW M2 / M3 / M4 and the A90 Toyota GR Supra
Pair it with the Vandal Performance Quick Release Steering Wheel Adapter for tool-free removal from a 6x70mm hub
Fitting the Apex in place of a factory wheel takes the driver airbag out of the vehicle
For a full-circle rim, see the Apex Round Steering Wheel 320mm

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
