Nitron NTR-R1 FastRoad Coilover Kit for 116 Vauxhall VX220 Turbo

Torque is the difference with the VX220 Turbo. Boost comes in hard through the midrange, and the car pushes out of corners with a force the 2.2 never had. On worn dampers that shows up quickly. The rear squats and moves around under power, the nose lifts and goes light just when you need steering, and the body keeps moving after mid-corner bumps. The Nitron VX220 Turbo NTR-R1 FastRoad kit replaces them with hand-built coilovers sprung and valved for owners who drive the Turbo hard on the road and go to the occasional track day. The Nitron VX220 Turbo NTR-R1 keeps the weight transfer under control when boost arrives, so the car stays settled and the steering stays accurate on corner exit. The ride still copes with rough pavement on long drives. A single adjuster at each corner sets bump and rebound together, and moving between a soft road setting and a firmer one takes just a few clicks. Mounting brackets are included, supplied for your car’s drive side.

Unique Technology

Nitron developed the NTR-R1 in its race department, and the Nitron VX220 Turbo NTR-R1 uses much of the same internal hardware as the NTR-R3 that Nitron runs in international motorsport. The nitrogen charge and oil are contained in each damper body, so the dampers fit with no remote canisters to mount. Each damper is installed upside down. That puts more of its mass on the chassis side, which lets the wheels move freely and stay in contact over broken surfaces. Internal friction is kept very low. The Nitron VX220 Turbo NTR-R1 responds from the first movement of the wheel, so it catches the rear as torque loads it up and controls the front as it unloads. The same quick response takes the edge off potholes and expansion joints on the way to work. The damping also resists fade as the oil heats up, so a long, fast drive feels the same at the end as it did at the start.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
