Does the 3D GT Wing for DC5 cars require drilling?

Yes. The 3D GT Wing for DC5 cars mounts through the trunk lid, so holes have to be drilled during installation. Plan for this before ordering, and have the holes sealed properly to keep water out of the trunk. A body shop can mark and drill the lid accurately.

How wide is the wing?

The wing is 1600mm wide. The manufacturer uses a banana-shaped upper surface to gain wing area without making the wing wider, so it stays within that width while still working a large surface. Measure your trunk and the car width if you want to check the visual proportion first.

Can the wing be adjusted?

Yes. It has four adjustment positions, giving a range that the manufacturer says suits low-speed circuits, high-speed circuits and street driving. Start in a lower position, then add more as you build confidence and balance the rear against the front aero on the car.

Does the carbon need protecting?

For a car stored outdoors or kept for a long time, the manufacturer recommends applying a UV-cut clear coat to stop the wet carbon from yellowing in the sun. The coat is not included, so budget for it with a paint shop if the car lives outside.

Does it make a difference on the street?

At street speeds the downforce is small, since aerodynamic load rises with speed. The manufacturer designed it to work from low-speed circuits to the street, but the real gains come in fast corners on track, where it raises cornering speed while keeping drag low.

Description

J’s Racing 3D GT Wing for DC5 Honda Integra Type R and Acura RSX

J’s Racing’s 3D GT Wing for DC5 Integra Type R and RSX builds is the Type 1 wing in wet carbon, a 1600mm single-flap design of the kind now standard in GT racing, tuning cars and time attack. Its upper surface is curved into a banana shape to gain wing area while keeping overall width in check, and the airfoil section is three-dimensional to catch the airflow coming off the roof. J’s Racing says it makes downforce efficiently while cutting drag, raising speed through fast corners. It belongs on a car that is driven at pace on a circuit; on a street car it is mostly a statement.

Design and Performance

Four adjustment positions let the wing be set for a tight low-speed circuit, a fast track or the street. Mounting requires drilling the trunk lid. For a car kept outdoors or owned for years, J’s Racing recommends a UV-cut clear coat to protect the wet carbon from sun damage.

Features

1600mm wet carbon wing with a single flap
Banana-shaped upper surface for more wing area within the width

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
