Does the rail work with my factory seat or a reclining seat?

No. This rail is made only for full bucket seats that mount through four side bolts. The factory GD seat and reclining semi-bucket seats cannot be fitted. The seat itself is not included, so plan to buy a compatible side-mount bucket if you do not already own one.

How much lower will the Ultra-Low Seat Rail for GD cars put me?

The manufacturer measured about 60mm lower than the stock seat using a Recaro bucket in its lowest position on the Ultra-Low Seat Rail for GD cars. Your result depends on the seat shell, its mounting holes and normal variation between cars, so treat 60mm as a reference rather than a promise.

Is one rail enough for one seat?

Yes. Each option is a complete rail for one seat, sold as Right or Left. To fit buckets on both front seats, order one Right and one Left, and confirm which side you need before ordering. The listed price is for a single rail.

Is the rail strong enough for track use?

The manufacturer designed it for motorsport. A rigid frame and a lock lever on each side hold the slide against the lateral load of circuit cornering, and the rails were strength tested at a public laboratory and sled tested at the Japan Automobile Research Institute.

Will the seat line up with the steering wheel?

Usually, but not always. The manufacturer warns that some seat combinations can sit slightly off the steering wheel center or touch interior trim. Test fit the seat before final tightening and check clearance to the door panel, console and belt buckle.

Description

J’s Racing Ultra-Low Seat Rail for GD Honda Fit

J’s Racing’s Ultra-Low Seat Rail for GD Fits is for drivers who fitted a full bucket seat and still felt perched too high on the seat maker’s own rails. J’s Racing moved the lock levers to the outside of the rail, so the seat shell drops down between the rails rather than sitting on top of them. With a Recaro bucket in the lowest position, the Osaka company measured about 60mm below the stock GD seat. The rail is 395mm wide and accepts side-mount full buckets only. It suits a tall driver or a GD built for circuit work; anyone keeping the factory or a reclining seat should look elsewhere.

Development and Testing

The frame is stiff, and a lever on each side locks the rail so it can carry the lateral load of circuit cornering, which is why J’s Racing approves it for motorsport use. The company also had its rails strength tested at a public industrial testing laboratory in June 2010 and sled tested at the Japan Automobile Research Institute in October 2014 and March 2017.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
