J’s Racing Ultra-Low Seat Rail for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Ultra-Low Seat Rail for AP1 and AP2 S2000s is for drivers who already run a full bucket seat and still sit too high on the seat maker’s own rails. J’s Racing moved the lock levers to the sides of the rail, so the seat shell drops down between the rails instead of sitting on top of them. The reference figure is a 40mm drop against the factory seat, measured with a Recaro bucket in its lowest mounting position, and the rail is 395mm wide. Levers locking on both sides give the strength for circuit cornering loads. It is made for side-mount full buckets only, so it does nothing for an owner keeping the stock seats.

Development and Testing

J’s Racing set its own strength standard and had the rail destruction tested at a public industrial testing laboratory in June 2010. It then commissioned sled tests, a crash safety procedure, at the Japan Automobile Research Institute in October 2014 and again in March 2017, and the company states those results confirmed the strength and safety of its seat rails.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
