Does the Stainless Race Pipe for DC5 cars include sensors?

No. The Stainless Race Pipe for DC5 cars comes with gaskets and bolts only. It has bosses for the factory exhaust temperature sensor and the O2 sensor, so the original sensors move across from the part being removed. Inspect the sensors and their threads while they are out.

Which DC5 models does it fit?

The manufacturer builds it for the DC5 Integra Type R and says it does not fit the Japanese-market Integra iS or Type S. Its US distributor lists it under the Acura RSX, so owners of an RSX Type S should confirm fitment with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering.

Is installation fully bolt-on?

Yes. The manufacturer describes it as completely bolt-on using the gaskets and bolts in the box, with no cutting or welding. Exhaust fasteners on an older DC5 can be seized, so allow time for penetrating oil, work with the car safely raised, or have an exhaust shop do the job.

How much power does it add?

The manufacturer reports gains in power and torque from low rpm to high, thanks to sharply reduced exhaust resistance, but publishes no figure for the DC5. Results depend on the rest of the exhaust and the state of tune, so treat it as one part of a complete exhaust upgrade.

Why is it made from SUS304 stainless?

SUS304 is an austenitic stainless steel that resists rust far better than mild steel, which matters on a part that sits low under the car and runs hot. The manufacturer chose it to improve durability, so the pipe should keep its finish and integrity through years of heat cycles and wet roads.

Description

J’s Racing Stainless Race Pipe for DC5 Honda Integra Type R and Acura RSX

J’s Racing’s Stainless Race Pipe for DC5 Integra Type R builds is a bolt-on SUS304 section that J’s Racing USA catalogues as a 2-1 front pipe. The Osaka Honda specialist designed it to cut exhaust resistance sharply and reports more power and torque from low rpm to high, though it quotes no figure. Stainless was chosen for rust resistance and durability, and bosses for the factory exhaust temperature sensor and O2 sensor are built in so the stock sensors carry straight over. It fits best on a circuit-focused K20A car being built up with a freer-flowing J’s Racing exhaust, rather than as a lone change on a stock car.

Construction

The pipe is SUS304 stainless throughout, the alloy J’s Racing uses where corrosion resistance matters. It mounts in the front pipe position with the gaskets and bolts supplied, so no cutting or welding is needed, and the two sensor bosses are welded in at the factory locations.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
