Who should install these brake lines?

A professional workshop equipped for brake work. The manufacturer classes the lines as critical safety parts, and correct bleeding after installation is essential. Claims arising from incorrect fitting or air left in the system are not accepted, and the instruction sheet packed with the lines should be read before work begins.

What should US Civic owners know about the Stainless Brake Lines for EG6?

The Stainless Brake Lines for EG6 cars are designed for the Japanese-market EG6 Civic SiR with the B16A engine and may not fit a US-market EG Civic. The manufacturer also lists the Japanese EG9 Civic Ferio sedan as compatible. Ask Bulletproof Automotive to review your car before you order.

What makes PTFE hose better than rubber?

Rubber brake hose expands when hot fluid pushes against it, which shows up as a deeper, spongier pedal during hard braking. PTFE hose was developed for aircraft use because it handles high pressure and heat, and with a stainless braid around it the line hardly expands, so pedal feel stays consistent.

Will I notice a difference on the street?

Yes. The manufacturer designed the system to respond crisply to delicate pedal inputs, not only to hard track stops, and lists improved control when ABS or brake assist activates. The difference is most obvious once the brakes are hot, but the firmer, more linear pedal is noticeable in normal driving too.

How durable are the fittings?

The fittings are SUS stainless steel rather than plated steel, selected to resist rust and deterioration over years of use. The braided hose has a clear coat outer layer, and the manufacturer pressure tests every hose before shipping and reports that the design has been proven in motorsport.

Description

J’s Racing Stainless Brake Lines for EG6 Honda Civic

J’s Racing’s Stainless Brake Lines for EG6 Civic SiR hatchbacks, catalogued as the Brake Line System SUS, are about pedal feel you can trust lap after lap. Factory rubber hose softens as brake fluid heats up, so a light, quick EG6 can end a session with a long, vague pedal. These lines pair PTFE hose, developed for aircraft for its pressure and heat resistance, with a stainless braid, a clear-coated finish and SUS stainless fittings. Osaka-based J’s Racing has worked only on Hondas since 1989, and every hose is leak tested before it ships. Worth it on any EG6 that brakes hard; the gain is smaller on a gently driven car.

Design and Performance

J’s Racing lists three goals for the system: a crisp response to delicate pedal inputs, a pedal that does not change during hard sports driving, and better control while ABS or brake assist is working. The braid and PTFE core keep the hose from swelling under heat and pressure, so the force at the pedal reaches the calipers directly and braking builds in a linear way.

Features

PTFE inner hose with pressure and heat resistance developed for aircraft use
Stainless mesh outer braid that resists thermal expansion
Clear coat over the braid for a fully pressure-resistant build
SUS stainless fittings that resist rust and aging
Each hose individually pressure tested for leaks

Applications

Honda Civic SiR: EG6 | 1991-1995 | 1.6L B16A

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
