Which CR-X models are the Rear Upper Arms for EF8 cars designed for?

The manufacturer developed them for the Japanese-market EF8 CR-X SiR with the 1.6L B16A engine, built from 1989 to 1991. US-market CR-X models are not listed by the manufacturer, so fitment on them is not confirmed. Contact us with your VIN before ordering if your car is a US model.

Do I need an alignment after installing them?

Yes. Fitting the Rear Upper Arms for EF8 cars always calls for a wheel alignment afterward, according to the manufacturer. Because each arm uses a turnbuckle, the shop can set rear camber to your target during that same alignment by changing arm length, rather than accepting the factory figure. Tell them the camber value you want before the car goes on the rack.

What are the arms made of?

Each arm body is 2017S aluminum alloy, a material the manufacturer chose partly for weight reduction, with a pillow ball joint at the end and a turnbuckle section for length adjustment. No weight figure is published for the pair, so we do not quote one here.

Are both sides included?

Yes. The set contains one left and one right rear upper arm, so a single order covers both rear corners of the EF8 CR-X. Alignment and labor are not included, and the manufacturer asks owners to recheck the bolts and nuts at regular intervals after installation and every time before a circuit session.

How often should the hardware be checked?

After the first install, the manufacturer asks owners to check the tightness of every bolt and nut at regular intervals, and to do it before every circuit session without exception. Add it to the checklist you already run for wheels and brakes.

Description

J’s Racing Rear Upper Arms for EF8 Honda CR-X

J’s Racing’s Rear Upper Arms for EF8 CR-X owners turn rear camber into something you set rather than something you live with. The Osaka tuner opens its own description with the line that the basis of setting up a front-drive car is rear camber adjustment, and these turnbuckle arms put that idea into hardware: pillow ball ends, an arm length you can set freely, and bodies made from 2017S aluminum to keep weight down. They suit a B16A CR-X that sees circuit days; on a lightly driven car at stock height, the factory arms are adequate.

Design and Performance

Turnbuckle construction is the practical win here. Instead of shimming or swapping parts, an alignment tech lengthens or shortens each arm in place, which J’s Racing says makes alignment work far more efficient. A pillow ball joint sits at the end of each arm, and the 2017S aluminum alloy contributes to weight reduction. After fitting, torque every fastener to specification and check the bolts and nuts again at regular intervals, especially before each circuit session.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
