Does the Tsuchinoko Chamber for Late GD1 cars suit a manual Fit?

No. The Tsuchinoko Chamber for Late GD1, GD2 and GD3 cars is listed for CVT models only, and the manufacturer directs manual owners to their own dedicated chamber. It also excludes other model types, so confirm both the transmission and the late-model series before ordering.

What was shown in the dyno test?

The manufacturer ran one stock-engine Fit on a Dynapack with the factory intake, then an aftermarket air cleaner, then the chamber, without blowing fan air into the intake. It highlights a dramatic torque increase but publishes no figures, and expects more from ram air on the road.

Can the filter cope with wet weather?

Yes. A dedicated partition wall inside the bumper deflects rain away from the filter element, and the manufacturer completed road testing in heavy rainfall before releasing the kit. Treat flooded roads with care all the same, since no bumper-mounted intake is meant to swallow standing water.

Which is better, carbon or FRP?

They work the same, since the chamber shape and kit contents are identical. Carbon is wet carbon finished CFRP with a gold emblem and costs more for its appearance. FRP is finished in clear black with a silver emblem, a tidy look at a lower price.

Is this the right version for a 1.3-liter car?

Yes, if it is a late-model car with the CVT. The manufacturer lists this chamber for both the 1.3 and the 1.5-liter CVT models in the late series. Early-model CVT cars and manual cars each have their own version of the chamber.

Description

J’s Racing Tsuchinoko Chamber for Late GD1 / GD2 / GD3 CVT Honda Fit

J’s Racing’s Tsuchinoko Chamber for Late GD1, GD2 and GD3 Fits is matched to second-series cars with the CVT, sold in Japan under the CBA- and DBA- model prefixes, and it suits both the 1.3 and the 1.5-liter engine. Hot underhood air is the enemy of a small engine, so J’s Racing relocated the filter into the front bumper and joined it to a large chamber shaped around the tight engine bay. Intake air now arrives through the factory bumper opening. Owners of a late CVT car who want better torque and response will get the most from it; manual and early-model cars use other versions.

Construction

Two chamber builds are offered with identical contents. The Carbon option is CFRP with a wet carbon finish and comes with a gold J’s Racing emblem, while the FRP option is finished in clear black and carries a silver emblem. Inside the bumper, a dedicated partition wall keeps rain off the filter, a design J’s Racing proved in heavy downpours.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
