J’s Racing’s Type-V Vented Hood for FN2 Civic Type R owners was developed to solve a specific problem: heat in the tightly packed engine bay of the European car. Its V-shaped ducts use the negative pressure created by air flowing over the hood to draw hot air out through vents on the left and right. The Osaka Honda specialist reports lower coolant, oil and intake temperatures as a result, with less heat soak in sports driving. The Carbon and FRP version weighs 4.6kg. Track-day FN2s gain the most from it.
