Does the kit include canards, fenders or a diffuser?

No. The kit is the front bumper with its under wing, a pair of side steps and the rear bumper. The twin canards, Type-S wide fenders, fender duct set and rear diffuser are optional parts sold separately, so add them to the order if you want the complete race look.

Does the Type-S Aero System for AP1 cars fit the AP2?

Yes. The Type-S Aero System for AP1 cars is listed for both the AP1 and AP2 S2000 across all model years. It keeps the factory body width, so it does not need wide fenders, though the manufacturer offers optional Type-S wide fenders for owners who want them.

What is the difference between Version 1 and Version 2?

Version 1 is the 2004 Super Taikyu homologated design, with a two-piece under wing that reaches to just ahead of the oil pan. Version 2 adopts the newer under wing, which the manufacturer updated to draw more air under the chassis for more downforce and a more aggressive look.

Which material option should I choose?

The FRP kit is black gelcoat throughout and is meant to be painted to match the car. The carbon kit is still mostly FRP, but the front wing, the lower side step sections and the lower rear bumper are CFRP, giving exposed carbon where the kit meets the air under the car.

Will the front under wing survive street driving?

It can, with care. The manufacturer warns that the front wing section generates large downforce and can break or split if it hits the road, whatever the type of driving. Cars driven at high speed need extra reinforcement and fixing, and damaged under panels can be replaced individually.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Aero System for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-S Aero System for AP1 and AP2 S2000s is the Total Aero System Type-S, a three-piece front bumper, side step and rear bumper set that was homologated for the 2004 Super Taikyu endurance series, where J’s reports about 80 percent of the Class 4 S2000 field ran it. The cooling openings reflect that history: a large radiator shroud, an air duct and brake ducts, each with cooling effects J’s says it has verified. It suits an S2000 used hard on track that also wants a finished, factory-width look; a car that never sees a circuit is paying for downforce it will rarely use.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
