Do the ducts fit the factory S2000 fenders?

No. They are covers designed only for the Type-S wide front fender and cannot be fitted to factory fenders or other brands. The Type-S wide fender is a separate purchase, sold by the side, so the ducts only make sense on a car that already has, or is getting, that fender.

What do the Type-S Fender Ducts for AP1 cars change?

The Type-S Fender Ducts for AP1 and AP2 cars close the side of the wide fender so air is not drawn in there. The manufacturer offers them to increase the range of settings available and describes the ducted setup as suited to higher-speed circuits. No figures are published for the effect.

Are both sides included?

Yes. The set contains a left and a right cover, enough for one car with Type-S wide front fenders on both sides. That differs from the fenders themselves, which are sold one side at a time, so check that both fenders are already on the car or ordered too.

Should I choose FRP or carbon?

The FRP set arrives in black gelcoat and must be painted, which suits a car with body-colored fenders. The carbon set is carbon FRP, a better match if you want exposed carbon details or are running other carbon parts. The shape and function are the same for both materials.

Do I need them for street driving?

No. They are an optional part intended for high-speed circuit setups, and the wide fender works without them. The manufacturer frames them as an extra setting for cars that see fast circuits, not a required part, so a street-driven car loses nothing without them.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Fender Ducts for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-S Fender Ducts for AP1 and AP2 S2000s are a left and right pair of covers made only for the Type-S wide front fender. J’s offers them as an option to widen the range of aero settings the fender can run. With the ducts fitted, air is stopped from being drawn in at the side of the fender, a configuration the Osaka tuner recommends for faster circuits. Without them, the fender stays in its standard form. They are for owners who already run Type-S wide fenders and want a second setup for high-speed tracks; nobody else has anything to fit them to.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
