What does the FX-PRO 60RS Exhaust for EK9 cars sound like?

It has the dry, crisp VTEC sound the manufacturer associates with full titanium. If you want it quieter for daily use, an inner silencer is available separately and lowers the volume when fitted. The FX-PRO 60RS Exhaust for EK9 cars is the street model of the range, so it is the one to choose for regular road driving.

How much weight does it save?

The manufacturer states more than 50 percent compared with the stock muffler, achieved with 1mm-wall titanium throughout. The North American distributor adds that the exact saving varies by model, so treat the figure as a guide. No kilogram weights are published for the EK9 version.

What is the difference between the 60RS and 60RR?

Both use the FX-PRO titanium construction and a 60mm main pipe. The 60RS is developed for the street, balancing drivability with gains across the rev range, and can take the optional inner silencer. The 60RR is the more aggressive version aimed purely at extracting the most from the VTEC engine.

Is this exhaust listed for US-market Civics?

No. Only the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R with the B16B engine is listed. Hanger positions and pipe routing on the US-market EK Civic have not been confirmed against this system, so send us your model and year and we will check with the distributor before you commit.

Is the inner silencer included?

No. The inner silencer is an optional extra sold separately. It fits inside the tail to bring the volume down when needed, which is useful for quiet neighborhoods or track days with noise limits. Ask us to add it to your order and we will confirm availability with the US distributor.

Description

J’s Racing FX-PRO 60RS Exhaust for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s FX-PRO 60RS Exhaust for EK9 Civic Type R owners is the street-focused member of the Osaka tuner’s redesigned FX-PRO full titanium muffler range. The straight-through layout that minimizes back pressure carries over from the earlier titanium muffler, now with a larger silencer, and the whole system is formed from 1mm-wall titanium tube. J’s Racing puts the weight saving at more than 50 percent against the factory muffler. A 60mm main pipe keeps the B16B tractable on the road while adding torque and power across the rev range. Choose it if the EK9 is driven on the street and taken to the track now and then.

Design and Performance

Every titanium bend is formed on a three-dimensional bender so the pipe stays smooth inside and exhaust resistance stays low. The dolphin tail is cut rather than simply rolled, giving a sharper finish, and the color on the tip is applied by hand. J’s Racing describes the result as the dry VTEC sound peculiar to full titanium.

Features

Full titanium construction in 1mm-wall tube
More than 50 percent lighter than the factory muffler, per J’s Racing

60mm main pipe chosen for street drivability with gains across the rev range
Cut dolphin tail with hand-applied color

Applications

Honda Civic Type R: EK9 | 1997-2000 | 1.6L B16B

Notes

J’s Racing builds this exhaust for the JDM EK9 Civic Type R and its B16B; fit on the US-market EK Civic is not assured
The inner silencer that brings the volume down is optional and sold separately
Because the tip color is applied by hand, each tail looks slightly different from the product photos
J’s Racing North America notes that the weight saving varies by model
For a stronger, harder-edged version, see the FX-PRO 60RR Exhaust for the EK9 Civic Type R
Made to order in Japan and imported through J’s Racing USA; Bulletproof Automotive confirms the lead time on each order

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
