How does the FX-PRO 60RR Exhaust for EK9 cars differ from the 60RS?

The FX-PRO 60RR Exhaust for EK9 cars is the power-first version. Both are 1mm titanium with a 60mm main pipe, but the RR is laid out for the lowest possible back pressure and sharper VTEC response, while the 60RS is tuned for street drivability and accepts an optional inner silencer for lower volume.

Is the 60RR suitable for a daily driver?

No. The manufacturer positions the RR series purely around power and response, with no mention of an inner silencer for this version. If your Type R is driven on the road most of the time, the 60RS from the same range is the better match and costs the same.

How much lighter is it than the factory muffler?

The manufacturer quotes more than 50 percent lighter than the stock muffler, thanks to 1mm-wall titanium tube throughout. The North American distributor notes that the saving varies by model. No kilogram figure is published for the EK9 system, so we do not quote one.

Can I fit the 60RR to a North American EK Civic?

No, not with confirmed fitment. The 60RR is developed for the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R and its B16B engine, and North American EK Civics are absent from the application list. Hangers and routing may not line up on those cars, so ask us to look at your exact vehicle first.

Why does the tail color vary between photos and the real part?

The color on each dolphin tail is applied by hand at the factory in Japan. That process gives every tail a slightly different pattern, so the finish on your exhaust will not exactly match the product images. It does not affect the fit or the performance of the system.

Description

J’s Racing FX-PRO 60RR Exhaust for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s FX-PRO 60RR Exhaust for EK9 Civic Type R builds is the version of the FX-PRO full titanium muffler that J’s Racing aims squarely at power. Where the 60RS balances street manners, the RR series exists to pull everything it can from a VTEC engine, with the main pipe enlarged to 60mm and the layout arranged to push back pressure as low as J’s Racing could take it. The tube is 1mm titanium, and the company quotes a saving of more than half the weight of the stock muffler. This is for a committed circuit EK9; a road-driven Type R is better served by the 60RS.

Construction

J’s Racing bends the titanium on a three-dimensional bender, which lets the tube follow smooth curves with very little resistance to flow. The silencer was enlarged when the FX-PRO line was redesigned, while the straight-through core stayed. A precise cutting method shapes the dolphin tail for a sharper rear view, and the tail is colored by hand, so no two finishes match exactly.

Features

RR specification focused on maximum power and response from the B16B
Main pipe enlarged to 60mm
1mm-wall titanium tube, with J’s Racing quoting over 50 percent less weight than stock
Straight-through silencer layout with very low exhaust resistance
Precision-cut dolphin tail, colored by hand

Applications

Honda Civic Type R: EK9 | 1997-2000 | 1.6L B16B

Notes

Developed for the JDM EK9 Civic Type R with the B16B engine; J’s Racing does not confirm fit on the US-market EK Civic

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
