What do the Rear Upper Arms for EK9 cars adjust?

Rear camber. The Rear Upper Arms for EK9 cars use a turnbuckle body, so the arm length can be set freely, and changing the length changes the camber angle of the rear wheels. The manufacturer calls rear camber the foundation of setting up a front-wheel-drive car.

Do I need an alignment after fitting them?

Yes. The manufacturer states that an alignment is required after installation, and the fasteners must be tightened to the specified torque. The turnbuckle design is meant to make that alignment work faster and easier than with fixed arms, which helps when you change settings for different events.

What are the arms made of?

The arm bodies are 2017S aluminum, chosen by the manufacturer to contribute to weight reduction, and the ends use pillow ball joints. Pillow balls do not deflect the way rubber bushings do, so the rear geometry holds its settings more precisely under load.

Yes. The set includes one right rear upper arm and one left rear upper arm, enough for one car. Both are adjustable, so you can set the same camber on each side or fine-tune them separately to suit how the car is driven.

Are these rear arms confirmed for US-market Civics?

No. They are made for the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R with the B16B, and US-market EK cars are not on the application list. If your Civic is not a Japanese-market EK9, contact us before ordering and we will check the rear suspension against this part.

Description

J’s Racing Rear Upper Arms for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Rear Upper Arms for EK9 Civic Type R setups start from a principle the company states plainly: on a front-wheel-drive car, setup begins with rear camber. These pillow adjustable arms use pillow ball ends and a turnbuckle body, so the arm length can be set to any value and rear camber adjusted freely. The body is 2017S aluminum, which keeps weight down, and the turnbuckle makes alignment work markedly easier. They are built for owners who tune their EK9 for circuits, autocross or hard road driving; a stock-height commuter has little reason to change rear camber.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
