J’s Racing Type-V Vented Hood for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-V Vented Hood for AP1 and AP2 S2000s has earned its reputation in endurance racing: since 2003, eight Super Taikyu teams have run it on their S2000s, and with about 500 sold it is one of the Osaka tuner’s best sellers. Its purpose-designed V-shaped duct releases heat from the engine bay, which J’s Racing reports clearly lowers coolant, oil and intake air temperatures, while also improving aerodynamics and saving weight. J’s Racing says the two-layer shell matches factory strength. It makes most sense on a car that sees track days or hard summer driving; a gently used weekend car will gain less from the cooling.

Design and Performance

The underside frame is shaped so the hood fits over a J’s Racing Tsuchinoko chamber kit or a Mugen air cleaner kit without cutting the duct opening. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
