Spoon Sports Carbon Roof Spoiler for EG6 Honda Civic
A light carbon finishing piece for the top of the EG6 hatch, with the weave left on show
The Spoon Sports Carbon Roof Spoiler for EG6 Honda Civic finishes the top of the hatch on the B16A Civic SiR in exposed carbon, and it is the kind of detail that marks out a car built with care. Go Tuning describes it as lightweight carbon construction with an excellent fit and finish, and Spoon lists it at 3 kg. Spoon registers it for the JDM EG6 built from September 1991 to September 1995. Spoon publishes no aerodynamic data for this part, so BA presents it honestly: a finishing piece for an EG6 that already wears Spoon parts, chosen for its material and its fit rather than as a measured downforce gain. Clear coat the carbon, because Spoon warns that sunlight can discolor it, and it will keep its look for years.
Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.
