Can I use the Front Brake Rotor for FK7 with the factory caliper?

No. Spoon makes the Front Brake Rotor for FK7 exclusively for its 6-Pot Full Monoblock Caliper Set, part 45020-FK7-G00. At 312 mm the disc is far larger than the 282 mm factory disc, and the factory caliper cannot be mounted over it. The rotor makes sense only on a car running the Spoon caliper.

How many rotors do I need?

Two. BA lists the price per rotor, matching how Spoon and Go Tuning sell it, so one order line covers a single front corner. A complete conversion needs a pair of rotors, the six-piston caliper set and the dedicated MB6 front pads, and Spoon recommends its rear pads at the same time.

What does reverse-vented mean for this rotor?

Spoon describes the disc as reverse-vented and credits that construction with holding down temperature rise and the heat distortion that leads to judder. Spoon does not publish vane drawings, so BA does not describe the internal layout further. What Spoon does state is a steadier brake feel over consecutive laps.

Is this a replacement for worn Spoon rotors?

Yes. For an owner already running the Spoon six-piston kit, this is the correct replacement disc when the original pair reaches its wear limit. Replacing both front rotors together and bedding in fresh pads keeps the feel even from side to side, and a shop can check pad wear while the calipers are off.

How heavy is each rotor?

Spoon lists each rotor at 9 kg, and it ships in a box measuring 34 x 34 x 7 cm. Spoon does not publish the weight of the factory 282 mm disc, so BA does not quote a difference. The larger size is about heat capacity and stability under repeated stops, not weight saving.

Description

Spoon Sports Front Brake Rotor for FK7 / FL1 / FC1 Honda Civic 6-Pot Monoblock

Spoon Sports’ Front Brake Rotor for FK7, FL1 and FC1 Civic is the dedicated 312 mm disc for the Spoon 6-Pot Full Monoblock caliper, and the caliper cannot be used without it. Spoon developed caliper and rotor together for these Civics after track testing showed the factory 282 by 23 mm disc climbing past 500 degrees C under a car weighing more than 1300 kg. The Spoon rotor is 30 mm larger in diameter and 2 mm thicker, and uses a reverse-vented construction that Spoon credits with sharply limiting temperature rise and heat distortion. Spoon also reports much better resistance to judder and a brake feel that stays consistent through repeated laps, the quality a time attack driver notices most. Each rotor is sold on its own at a listed 9 kg, so a car needs two. It has no use on a Civic running factory calipers; it is a part for owners building or maintaining the Spoon six-piston conversion.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
