Does the Baffle Oil Pan for FN2 come with the oil level sensor?

No. The Baffle Oil Pan for FN2 is supplied without a sensor, and the factory oil level sensor is moved from the original pan to the Spoon pan during installation. Handle the sensor and its connector carefully when the old pan comes off, and refit it before the new pan goes on.

Are gaskets included?

Yes. Spoon includes the gaskets required for the swap, so the only extra items needed are engine oil and a new filter. Clean the block flange thoroughly before fitting, since a fresh gasket only seals properly on a surface free of old material and oil residue.

Which FN2 cars does Spoon list?

Spoon registers the Japanese-market Civic Type R Euro, the European hatchback Honda sold in Japan from November 2009 to June 2012, in two production periods with the K20A and 6-speed manual. Spoon does not name other markets for this pan, so owners of other FN2 cars should confirm with BA before ordering.

Why fit a baffled pan to an FN2?

On a circuit with good tires the FN2 can hold strong cornering loads for long enough to move oil away from the pickup in a plain sump. A brief loss of oil pressure, or air drawn through the pump, can damage bearings in seconds. The Spoon baffle keeps a reserve of oil where the pickup sits.

Is it difficult to install?

No. It is no more involved than any sump change, apart from the sensor transfer. Drain the oil, unplug and remove the oil level sensor, unbolt the factory pan and clean the flange, then fit the sensor and Spoon pan with the supplied gaskets. Refill, run the engine and check for leaks once warm.

Description

Spoon Sports Baffle Oil Pan for FN2 Honda Civic Type R

The Spoon Sports Baffle Oil Pan for FN2 Civic Type R gives the European hatchback the same oil control Spoon developed for its other K20A Type R models. Spoon starts with a brand-new Honda oil pan for the FN2, fits a baffle plate designed for that sump, and supplies the gaskets needed for the swap. Its job is to stop oil surging away from the pickup when the car holds high G, so pressure stays up and no air reaches the pump. The FN2 needs one extra step: its factory pan carries an oil level sensor, which moves across to the Spoon pan during installation. Spoon registers the Japanese-market Type R Euro sold from late 2009 to mid 2012 and lists the pan at 6 kg. It is a sensible fit for an FN2 being prepared for track days, and unnecessary on one used only for the commute.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
