GiroDisc’s Front Iron Rotor Conversion takes a C6 Corvette ZR1 or a Z07-equipped C7 off its factory carbon ceramic front discs and onto two-piece iron rotors that can be re-ringed when they wear. GiroDisc floats a proprietary cast iron ring, poured in the USA and machined in Bellingham, Washington, on a US-sourced 6061-T6 aluminum hat through 12 cadmium-plated drive pins. It suits the ZR1 or Z07 owner who drives hard on track and prefers renewing iron rings to replacing ceramic discs.

Construction

Curved internal vanes work as a centrifugal pump, drawing air from the hub and pushing it out through the disc, while the slotted face keeps the friction surface clean. Each drive pin carries an anti-noise spring washer, so the floating ring can grow with heat and self-center without the cold rattle common to floating designs. Class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers secure the pins, which GiroDisc makes in-house.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
