Which RS5 generations do the GiroDisc Rear Rotors for B9 cars cover?

GiroDisc lists the GiroDisc Rear Rotors for B9 and B8 Audi RS5 models under one part number, so both the earlier V8 car and the later twin-turbo V6 car are covered. The rotor bolts on as a direct replacement with the factory rear calipers and needs no modifications.

Does fitting these rotors change the RS5 ABS behavior?

No. The rotor replaces the factory disc without modifications and works with the original calipers, so the brake bias and ABS calibration remain as Audi set them. GiroDisc offers it as the alternative to a big brake kit for exactly that reason.

Is there a GiroDisc front rotor to match on a B9 RS5?

Yes. GiroDisc lists the A1-216 front rotor for the B9 RS4 and RS5. Fitting both axles puts the car on GiroDisc two-piece rotors front and rear, so every corner uses reusable aluminum hats and replaceable iron rings. Both axles are then serviced the same way, by renewing rings on the existing hats.

What keeps the floating rear rings quiet?

Anti-noise spring washers, fitted on the rotor side of each drive pin. They allow the iron ring to grow as it heats but stop it moving when cold, which removes the clatter often heard from floating rotors at low speed and keeps an RS5 refined on the road.

Are the RS5 rear rotors sold individually or as a pair?

GiroDisc sells and prices them as a pair, a left and a right rotor. Each one is labeled for its side because the curved cooling vanes inside the ring only pump air outward when the disc turns in the intended direction.

Description

GiroDisc Rear Rotors for B9 and B8 Audi RS5

GiroDisc’s Rear Rotors for B9 and B8 Audi RS5 models swap the factory rear discs for a two-piece floating rotor that bolts on with no modifications and works with the original RS5 calipers. GiroDisc builds it as the lighter alternative to a big brake kit, so the brake bias and ABS calibration Audi developed for the RS5 stay intact. With a ring poured in the USA and a 6061-T6 aluminum hat, it is a sound rear partner for an RS5 that already wears GiroDisc fronts.

Bolt-On and Go

Fitting matches a standard rear disc change: the rotor goes onto the hub, the factory caliper goes back over it, and nothing is machined or spaced. Ten cadmium-plated alloy steel drive pins carry the ring, spring washers stop cold rattle, and curved vanes pump air through the disc to keep rear temperatures in check on long sessions.

Features

Direct replacement for the RS5 rear disc, no modifications
Factory rear calipers, bias and ABS retained
Covers both B8 and B9 RS5 generations, per GiroDisc
Ten GiroDisc-made alloy steel drive pins
Anti-noise spring washers on the drive pins
Proprietary iron ring machined in-house

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
