What does the SF Intake DSG Power Package change in the gearbox?

The Accessport writes a COBB transmission map to the DSG control unit. COBB says this can raise minimum shift points and automatic shift points and make shifts firmer, and the full throttle shift points were selected for maximum torque at the wheels based on dyno testing at COBB HQ. The SF Intake DSG Power Package ships with four DSG maps.

Can I log DSG data on every car on the list?

No. COBB states that live gauge monitoring and datalogging of DSG parameters is currently available only for 6-speed transmissions. Engine data can be monitored and logged on every listed vehicle, and the transmission flash itself is offered across the list, so check which gearbox your GTI or GLI uses if transmission logging matters.

Is the package legal for a street registered car in California?

Yes. COBB lists this package as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states under CARB Executive Order D-660-222, when installed according to the COBB application guide. That allows a dual-clutch GTI or GLI to be tuned and still be driven on public roads in California.

Can I install it over an existing tune from another company?

No, not safely. COBB warns that installing this Accessport over anything other than OEM or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure. A car carrying another tune should be returned to the factory calibration first, and COBB Support can answer questions before the first flash.

Why use the clutch relearn after tuning?

The TCM service tools in the Accessport can trigger a clutch relearn or adjust clutch touch points. COBB positions this for clutch wear, slip or increased power, so it gives the transmission a chance to adapt once the engine map has raised torque.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ SF Intake DSG Power Package for MK7 Volkswagen GTI and A7 Jetta GLI

COBB Tuning’s SF Intake DSG Power Package is the Stage 1+ kit for dual-clutch MK7 and MK7.5 GTI and A7 Jetta GLI owners who want the gearbox calibrated along with the engine. The handheld here is the AP3-VLK-002-DSG Accessport, which flashes both the engine control unit and the DSG transmission control unit, and the COBB SF Intake System completes the hardware. On the transmission side, COBB says its Off The Shelf maps can raise minimum and automatic shift points and firm up shifts, and its full throttle shift points were chosen from wheel torque measured on the dyno at COBB HQ. CARB EO D-660-222 covers the package. Manual car owners are better served by the standard Stage 1+ kit.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
