The Nitron E30 M3 NTR-R3 Coilover Kit is for the M3 that gets driven hard enough that a single combined damper adjustment stops being enough. The E30 M3 was built as a homologation car with strut front suspension and semi-trailing arm rear suspension, and one with decades on its factory dampers has lost the control it was designed around. Nitron’s passive NTR-R3 replaces the spring and damper at each corner with a coilover and gives you independent high and low speed adjustment for both compression and rebound, so a quick change of direction and a slow weight transfer can each be tuned on their own. Remote reservoirs connect by hose at the front and rear, the rear is specified as a coilover that combines the spring and damper into one unit, and adjustable top mounts are included so the alignment can be set for how the car is run. The front uses the customer’s own donor OE front suspension legs. The kit fits the 1986-1991 E30 M3 and suits track days, club racing, and road cars that are driven properly.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

The hose that links each Nitron damper to its reservoir has to find a path through an E30 M3 that was never packaged for it, around the strut towers up front and the rear arches and subframe at the back. Nitron’s Bi-Axis fittings rotate 720 degrees across two axes, so each hose can be turned to leave the damper at the angle the car needs instead of the angle the fitting happens to face. That keeps the lines clear of moving suspension parts and avoids the kinks and tight bends that come with a fixed fitting.

Unique Technology

Each Nitron NTR-R3 damper is a monotube design pressurized with nitrogen gas, which keeps the oil from aerating and holds damping consistent as the dampers heat up over a long session. The valving comes from motorsport work and is tuned to the weight and spring rates of an E30 M3 instead of being adapted from a generic BMW curve. Where the NTR-R1 combines compression and rebound into a single adjustment, the NTR-R3 separates high speed and low speed circuits for each, giving four independent adjustments at every corner.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
