Will the Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for G87 work with the M2 exhaust valves?

Yes. The Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for G87 BMW M2 takes over the valve actuators from the BMW section, and Active Autowerke states it runs on the stock valve control. The valves keep operating as BMW intended, now in front of a louder and deeper rear section.

Is this axle-back enough on its own?

It depends on the goal. Active Autowerke says the rear section alone brings a more subtle upgrade, while the dramatic difference in sound comes from replacing the mid-pipe as well. An owner who wants a fuller M2 note without drama can stop at the rear; one who wants the full effect should add a mid-pipe.

Can it be fitted with the stock mid-pipe?

Yes. Active Autowerke supplies a version for M2 owners keeping the factory mid-pipe, so tell us which mid-pipe the car runs when ordering. A later move to an Active or other mid-pipe means the connecting pipes must be replaced, which carries an additional charge.

Which tip finishes can I choose?

Four: brushed stainless, matte black, carbon fiber and carbon over black chrome. Both carbon options cost more than the stainless and black versions. Every finish is fitted to the same USA-built 304 stainless rear section, and each kit arrives with the hardware needed for installation.

Does it fit every G87 M2?

Yes. Active Autowerke guarantees fit on all G87 BMW M2 cars and test-fits each rear section on its in-house G87 exhaust fixture as part of quality control. The guarantee covers the S58 powered G87 generation from the 2023 model year onward.

Description

Active Autowerke Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for G87 BMW M2

Active Autowerke’s Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for G87 BMW M2 gives the S58-powered M2 the voice its twin-turbo six was denied by a heavily muffled factory system. The section is made in the USA from 304 stainless steel, and each one is test-fitted on a G87 exhaust fixture at Active Autowerke before it ships. BMW’s own valve actuators move across to the new section, which keeps the stock valve control intact. Choose it alone for a firmer, deeper note that stays civil, or pair it with the Gen 2 Signature Equal Length Mid-Pipe or Signature Single Mid-Pipe for the bigger transformation Active Autowerke says only a new mid-pipe delivers.

Design and Performance

For the G87, Active Autowerke assembled a full exhaust from three parts: this valved rear section, an equal length X-pipe or single mid-pipe, and catted downpipes such as the GESI Catted Downpipes. The rear section meets the mid-pipe through connecting pipes, so the version supplied depends on which mid-pipe the M2 carries.

Notes

Let us know at order whether the M2 keeps its factory mid-pipe. A version exists for that car, and switching to an Active or other mid-pipe later requires new connecting pipes at extra charge.
Pair the Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for G87 with the Equal Length Mid-Pipe for G87 or Single Mid-Pipe for G87 for the full change in sound, sold separately
The system is also sold as the Equal Length Exhaust Bundle for G87, and replacement rear exhaust tips are available separately

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
