CSF’s Left-Hand High-Performance Radiator for F142 Ferrari 458 solves a failure every 458 owner meets sooner or later. Ferrari built the original with an aluminum core crimped onto plastic end tanks, and after ten to fifteen years of heat cycling that joint gives up, usually with the nose of the car already apart for something else. CSF developed this replacement with Hollywood Mechanic, the Los Angeles shop that works on these engines daily, and built it the way the part should have been built in the first place: a 2-row 42mm core, 26% larger than the factory unit, TIG-welded end to end in aluminum, with CSF’s exclusive B-Tube cooling tubes behind a 5mm multi-louvered fin. Heat transfer rises by up to 25%. A 1/4 NPT drain plug in the lower tank turns a coolant service into a drain and fill instead of a wrestling match with the hoses. Satin black, CNC-machined brackets, factory ducting and shrouds straight back where they came off, and a radiator that will outlast the car it goes into.

Design and Engineering

CSF set four targets before drawing anything: OEM fit and finish, more cooling capacity, better reliability, and easier servicing. The 2-row 42mm core carries 69 cooling tubes against the factory 68, and 70 fin rows against 69, and the extra thickness raises coolant volume as well as surface area. B-Tube technology is where most of the gain comes from; the seam-brazed B-section tube splits flow into two laminar paths inside the same footprint and moves roughly 15% more heat than a conventional oval welded tube. Paired with the 5mm multi-louvered fin CSF introduced at the end of 2023, total heat transfer climbs by up to 25% over the original, which is why this Radiator for F142 Ferrari 458 is worth fitting to a car that is not yet overheating.

The factory radiator is an aluminum core crimped onto plastic end tanks over a gasket. It works when new; it does not age well. Ferrari calls for a cooling system fouling inspection every year and a coolant flush every four, and each time the hoses come off, the plastic inlet and outlet necks flake and the crimp seal loses a little more of its grip. Debris from the deteriorating plastic then circulates through the system, which is how water pumps on these cars end up leaking.
