Moshammer Carrera Side Skirts for the narrow body 997 are proof that width is not the only route to presence. Much wider than the standard components, they broaden the underbody, and that broader underbody is what produces the additional downforce. Moshammer works in Berlin to an OEM+ brief, tests what it builds and documents the result with a TUV parts certificate (§19.3). Fitting uses the original screw points, secured with a special adhesive where the design calls for it, and detailed installation instructions come with the order. Design and Proportion

A narrow body 997 is a lean, tightly drawn shape, and the temptation to widen it usually ends badly. Moshammer instead adds width only at the sill, where it lowers the visual centre of the car and stretches the profile without disturbing the arches. The car ends up looking elevated rather than altered, which is what OEM+ should mean and rarely does.

Aerodynamic Function

The skirts are much wider than the standard components, so the underbody they enclose is wider too, and that additional working area is where the extra downforce is found. Air stays underneath the car doing something useful instead of escaping sideways beneath the doors. On a C2, where grip is a matter of finesse rather than brute traction, that added composure is worth having.

Engineering and Fitment

Moshammer components typically install using the original screw points and, where needed, are secured with a special adhesive, and detailed installation instructions are provided with your order. The set arrives unpainted with mounting material, ready for your painter to finish in body colour, satin black or a contrast. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) accompanies the part, documenting it for German road use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my 997 is narrow body? Narrow body cars are the rear wheel drive Carrera, Carrera S and GT3. The all wheel drive C4 models and the Turbo carry the wider rear bodywork and need the wide body skirts instead.
How are they installed? Using the original screw points, with a special adhesive where the design requires it, and the supplied mounting material. Detailed installation instructions are provided with the order.
Do they come painted? No. They are delivered unpainted so the finish can be matched precisely to your car, which is far easier to do before they are fitted.
How much wider are they than the factory sills? Moshammer describes them as much wider than the standard components, which is what creates the wider underbody and the extra downforce. Parked next to a standard car the difference is unmistakable.
What does the TUV parts certificate tell me? It is German documentation under §19.3 confirming the component was assessed for road use. It carries no legal weight in the United States, but it is a good measure of how the part was engineered.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
