Moshammer Downforce Aero Kit for 997 Porsche 911 Turbo & Turbo S

Moshammer Downforce Aero Kit is the configuration for the 997 Turbo owner whose priority is the car’s underside rather than its shoulders. Where the scoop equipped version chases intercooler temperature, this set pairs the front spoiler and side skirts with a rear wing spoiler and a revised rear diffuser that reduces drag while increasing downforce, so stability and traction improve together at speed. The front spoiler brings a more aggressive shape with larger air intakes for brake cooling, the skirts clean up airflow along the flanks and visually lower the car, and the wing spoiler loads the rear axle where a rear engined 911 asks for help. Moshammer draws and builds the panels in Berlin, delivers them unpainted with the mounting material, and includes a TUV parts certificate (§19.3) so the modification is documented rather than improvised. For a 997 Turbo being prepared for serious road use, it is a coherent piece of engineering rather than a collection of parts.

Drag and Downforce

The revised rear diffuser is the reason this version exists. By managing airflow leaving the underbody it reduces drag and increases downforce, which shows up as steadier traction during high speed driving and on track, and the rear wing spoiler works with it to add load over the rear axle through fast corners. The two rear elements are complementary rather than redundant, and the car’s behaviour at speed changes more than its silhouette does.

Front End and Flanks

At the nose the front spoiler adopts a more aggressive design with larger air intakes, feeding the brakes more air while improving aerodynamics and, with them, high speed stability. Along the sides the skirts improve overall airflow and give the 997 a lower, sportier line that flatters the car’s proportions. Neither piece looks out of place on a Turbo that was already the most purposeful shape in the 997 range.

Construction and Finish

Every panel is produced in Berlin in small batches and shipped unpainted with the mounting material included, which lets your painter match the car’s colour code exactly. Fitment relies on the OEM screwing points, with a special glue used where the design requires it, so the shell is not altered to accept the kit. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is supplied, the German documentation that separates approved components from generic bodywork.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between this kit and the Downforce RS version? This package includes the revised rear diffuser and leaves out the ram air intercooler scoops. The Downforce RS version does the opposite, adding two scoops at the intercooler inlets in place of the diffuser.
What does the rear diffuser actually change? Moshammer designed it to reduce drag and increase downforce, and the practical result is better stability and traction at high speed and on track. It also gives the rear valance a more technical appearance than the standard panel.
Does the front spoiler help with brake temperatures? Yes. The larger air intakes were drawn specifically to improve brake cooling while also improving the aerodynamics of the front end.
Is the kit painted to my colour before shipping? No. It arrives unpainted with the mounting material, which is the normal arrangement for a made to order German aero kit and lets you match the car exactly.
What paperwork comes with the kit? A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is included, recording the parts as tested and approved for road use.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
