The Nitron elec-TRON R3 Coilover Kit for the C5 and C6 Corvette takes the elec-TRON platform a step further than the R1, combining Nitron’s proportional solenoid valve electronic damping control with independent manual compression adjustment so drivers and engineers have control over both the active and mechanical sides of the damping setup simultaneously. Each shock carries its own solenoid valve, with the elec-TRON system managed through the Nitron DCU in real time; the DCU is required for the system to operate and is sold separately. Hose reservoirs are fitted front and rear, keeping independent high and low speed compression adjustment accessible at both ends alongside the electronic control, giving the elec-TRON R3 a level of tunability that neither a purely electronic nor a purely mechanical kit can match on its own. Standalone Electronic Damping System

It’s the brain behind the elec-TRON system, transforming a conventional passive damper setup into a precision semiactive platform. Working in conjunction with Nitron’s elec-TRON valve, the DCU continuously processes data from the car every 5 milliseconds; assessing vehicle attitude, braking forces, cornering loads, and acceleration inputs to determine the correct valve position and damping level at any given moment. The result is a suspension system that isn’t set to a fixed damping rate but is constantly optimizing grip and comfort in real time based on what the car is actually doing. The DCU is fitted with an adjustable control knob giving the driver access to a range of pre-installed damping maps; Rain, Tour, Sport, and Race; each tuned for a specific driving context. Damping continues to be adjusted continuously within whichever map is selected, so the driver sets the overall character and the system handles the rest.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
