SOUL Performance developed the Resonated Over Axle Pipes for the Porsche 718 GT4, Spyder, and GTS 4.0L  to replace the factory over axle pipes that use dense particulate filters, which restrict the tone and character of the 4.0L engine. Through extensive analysis and 3D scanning, SOUL engineered a one-piece, full 2.25-inch design with large-radius mandrel bends for an optimized street-and-track upgrade, and the resonated configuration is designed to deliver the flow benefit of removing OPF restrictions without a large increase in overall volume while helping reduce rasp, drone, and low-RPM resonance when paired with other exhaust modifications. For owners running aftermarket headers or a rear exhaust, SOUL’s straight-through stainless race resonators are intended to take the edge off the sound and target unwanted frequencies without sacrificing performance. Built in-house in Willow Grove, PA, each set is constructed from mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065-inch T304L stainless steel with back-purged TIG welding and ISO 9001:2015-spec waterjet-cut flanges for long-term durability and precise fitment. Designed for North American vehicles, the setup is intended to help avoid a check engine light and provides a 9.4lb (4.2kg) weight savings versus factory components (13.8lb vs 23.2lb). Development

Construction

• SOUL Performance assembles each set in-house in the USA using mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065-inch T304L stainless steel. Back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL Prime argon gas is used to ensure proper weld penetration and long-term durability. Waterjet-cut flanges are produced to ISO 9001:2015 standards with +/- 0.003-inch tolerances for exceptional precision. These over axle pipes are fabricated in thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during welding, helping prevent warping of both the components and the fixtures to maintain consistent, precise fitment. SOUL Performance’s Race Resonators feature full stainless steel construction with a straight-through perforated core to maximize exhaust flow while reducing undesirable frequencies.
