Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System For E85 / E86 BMW Z4 M

Eventuri’s Z4 M intake system is an evolution of its E46 M3 development, refined through extensive data logging, dyno testing, and airflow optimization. It is engineered specifically for the S54 to work with the factory ECU map and MAF sensor while delivering a genuine, repeatable improvement in drivability. At the core of the system is Eventuri’s Patent Pending carbon fiber housing, which creates an aerodynamically efficient path from the filter to the MAF tube. Rather than a generic cone with a heat shield, this housing is purpose-shaped to induce a Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining stability. Carbon Intake Housing Assembly

• Eventuri manufactures the housing from 100% high-quality pre-preg carbon fiber, with workmanship aimed at both structural integrity and finish. The housing encloses the filter and joins to an anodized aluminum inlet cowl to maintain a smooth, controlled entry path for incoming air. The filter itself is a deep-pleated, high-flow, dry double-cone element to protect the MAF from oil contamination. The full assembly mounts to an aluminum heat shield that isolates the intake from engine bay heat while capturing ambient air from the scoop, and also incorporates an integrated clip to secure the coolant hose.

Air Scoop

• Laser-cut from aluminum and finished in a durable powder coat, Eventuri’s Z4 M air scoop feeds ambient air directly into the filter opening to help maintain low intake air temperatures. Unlike typical aftermarket scoops, installation requires no drilling, it locates in the factory mounting points and secures with the supplied push rivets.

MAF tube

• Eventuri machines the MAF tube from aluminum and finishes it with anodizing, while the MAF boss is produced from an engineering-grade polymer to reduce conductive heat transfer into the sensor. A machined recess is integrated into the tube to accept the OEM rubber gasket from the stock air box, ensuring a precise seal to the factory elbow.

Heat Shield

• Eventuri fabricates the heat shield from laser-cut aluminium and finishes it with a durable powder coat, then adds neoprene insulation to keep inlet air temperatures as low as possible. A top-mounted clip secures the coolant hose. Working in concert with the intake system, these components improve intake efficiency for increased power, sharper throttle response, and a richer induction sound.

Performance

• Eventuri’s dyno testing on a standard Z4 M shows consistent increases in both power and torque across much of the rev range, not just at peak. On the illustrated car, the intake produced gains of roughly 11 hp over the stock air box, with results of up to 15 hp observed on other Z4 M vehicles. On the road, this translates to sharper part-throttle and full-throttle response, with the engine pulling more eagerly to redline. All testing was carried out back-to-back on the same day with temperatures monitored for consistency. While no remap is required, additional gains have been recorded when the Z4M is subsequently tuned.
