AutoTecknic presents their pre-preg dry carbon fiber exhaust shield cover for the 2009-2016 Nissan R35 GT-R. This product offers a show car shine and is resistant to UV rays from the sun. It is crafted with 2×2 twill weave carbon fiber using their signature pre-preg autoclave process and finished with a UV-resistant clear coat. When installed, these covers fit over the OEM exhaust panel area. Dry carbon is the highest-quality version of carbon fiber products available. The name “dry carbon fiber” refers to its manufacturing process. Dry carbon fiber is formed using a “pre-preg” or impregnated piece of carbon material. This piece is first placed into a mold and then sealed in an autoclave to properly cure. This method creates the least amount of waste and produces a lighter version of carbon compared to the “wet” method. The autoclave vacuuming process used to make dry carbon results in fewer pinholes and virtually no air pockets in the carbon.
