Many GT3 owners are aware that the OEM mufflers are susceptible to cracking, breaking, and blowing out, especially the titanium mufflers found on GT3RS cars. Fabspeed aimed to develop a muffler replacement that not only addressed this issue but also enhanced the OEM design. Drawing upon their 25+ years of experience with air and water-cooled systems, they enlarged the valve to 2.75 inches (70mm), which is the optimal diameter for GT3 engines to reduce restriction while maintaining high velocity and the distinctive high-pitched sound characteristic of GT3 CUP cars. They also incorporated their signature investment cast x-pipe for optimal exhaust scavenging, effectively merging the two cylinder banks without impeding exhaust flow. To preserve the factory muffler’s exhaust note and prevent drone, they replicated Porsche’s 7-chamber design, resulting in a muffler that is completely free from drone, even when equipped with race headers.

Sound

• The muffler will produce a tone closely resembling that of the OEM muffler, albeit slightly louder when the PSE is activated. Additionally, it will offer a smoother and more elevated pitch, courtesy of Fabspeed’s distinctive x-pipe design. When combined with Fabspeed’s side muffler bypass pipes, the vehicle’s complete sound profile is unleashed.

Power

• On their 991.1 GT3RS test car, when combined with side muffler bypass pipes, the rennsport muffler demonstrated a notable increase of 27ft/lbs of torque at 3,200rpm. Between 2,900rpm and 5,700rpm, it consistently gains 10whp or more, with peak whp rising from 446 to 454. This translates to a gain of 8whp or 9hp at the crank.
