Fabspeed’s Side Muffler Bypass Pipes replace the factory 997.2 Carrera’s heavy, restrictive side mufflers with straight-through CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel piping, trading a substantial amount of weight for a bolder, race-inspired exhaust note. The result is a noticeably louder, more aggressive car — a meaningful step up from a stock or center-muffler-bypass setup rather than a mild refinement, so it suits drivers who want that character on the street and don’t mind the added volume that comes with it.

This is built specifically for the 997.2-generation Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, and Carrera 4S, covering the 2009-2012 model years — not the 991. 2012 is a split year for this platform, since Porsche transitioned to the 991 generation partway through it, so confirm your car is a 997.2 (by build date or VIN) rather than going by model year alone before ordering.
How much louder does the car get, and is it too much for daily driving?
Owners describe a substantial jump in volume and a much more aggressive, race-inspired tone rather than a mild change. On Porsche forums, at least one owner who installed this side muffler bypass called it loud enough to make normal cabin conversation or a phone call difficult at speed, with a noticeably louder cold start that can draw attention in a residential area. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
