The Touring Edition Exhaust elegantly combines sophistication with a bold attitude. This 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back system is perfectly suited for drivers who desire the efficiency of a straight-pipe, a rich and refined exhaust sound, and a smooth, drone-free experience while driving on highways. Touring Edition Exhaust
At the crossroads of refinement and performance sits the Touring Edition Exhaust. Built in a 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back layout, it delivers straight-pipe performance with a deep, mature exhaust note while keeping cabin drone to zero at highway speeds. The system combines an integrated frontpipe, bespoke midpipe resonator, and AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® to produce a full-bodied, rasp-free K20 soundtrack unmatched by competitors. Under heavy throttle or boost, it commands attention, yet at cruising speeds it remains completely drone-free, striking the ideal balance. Designed specifically for the FL5 Civic Type R, it carries AWE’s No CEL and Perfect Fitment Guarantees. Exhaust gases exit the K20 and flow into a 180 Technology® resonator, passing through strategically placed ports into reflection chambers. By carefully sizing and positioning these ports and chambers, AWE controls when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow, creating a 180-degree out-of-phase wave that cancels unwanted frequencies. All within a straight-through design. Simply put: maximum power, zero drone.
What is 180 Technology?
AWE’s 180 Technology® operates through a carefully engineered process: exhaust gases exit the engine and enter a resonator equipped with this system, where they are channeled through precisely positioned ports into specialized reflection chambers. Inside these chambers, sound waves bounce off the walls, and AWE’s acoustic engineers meticulously size and place the ports and chambers to match each vehicle’s specific acoustic profile. By controlling when these reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow, a 180-degree out-of-phase wave is created that cancels unwanted frequencies. Unlike a one-size-fits-all solution, 180 Technology® is fully tailored to each vehicle, with custom-designed resonators fine-tuned to its unique sound characteristics. The result is the elimination of undesirable tones, producing a distinct, signature exhaust note that combines maximum performance with a clean, refined sound.
Front Pipes
Both the Touring and Track Edition Exhausts feature a full 3-inch front pipe, carefully engineered with a proprietary flange and gasket to maintain consistent diameter throughout. This front pipe is seamlessly incorporated into the exhaust system, contributing to its refined design. Keep in mind that AWE exhausts are specifically designed to work exclusively with their own components and are not intended to be compatible with front pipes from other aftermarket manufacturers.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less.
