SwitchPath Edition

• The SwitchPath™ Exhaust system is crafted from U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel, characterized by gently rounded curves, sleek design, dual mode operation and exit point located on the right side of the vehicle. The 3-inch and 2.5-inch pipes guarantee durability as well as tight packaging.
• SwitchPath™ preserves your car’s factory valves settings and follows the Golf’s ECU orders based on the throttle speed, engine speed, and Drive Select. Going somewhere quiet in the morning? Leave the valve shut. Ready to ride? Activate Dynamic mode and your Golf R will generate a distinct AWE vocalization with extra reverberations that will bring a big smile to your face.

What is SwitchPath

• The AWE SwitchPath Remote and associated control box take precedence over the regular valve settings, providing the ability to open and close the exhaust valves manually on the AWE SwitchPath Exhaust or the factory pipe with a single action of the Remote.
• The AWE SwitchPath Controller includes an “On” button on the left side of the corresponding remote, allowing users to open the exhaust valves. To turn them off, press the “Off” button which is located on the right side of the remote.
• Please take into account that the AWE SwitchPath Remote overrides the factory valve management, thus the exhaust needs to be opened and shut through the remote as per your needs.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE has made it simple to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired later.
