The AWE Track Edition Exhaust with chrome silver tips for the G2X BMW M340i and BMW M440i replaces the Touring Edition’s resonated sections with straight-through pipes, allowing the B58 inline-six to produce a more direct, aggressive, and dynamic tone. The system accentuates throttle response and engine character, particularly during spirited driving and high-RPM operation, while still keeping the sound manageable at lower speeds. The quad chrome silver tips provide a clean, classic look that integrates seamlessly with the factory rear valance. Made from T304L stainless steel and designed as a direct bolt-on, it preserves factory valve functionality and ensures precise fitment, offering an engaging exhaust experience without compromising daily usability.

Track Edition Exhaust

• The Track Edition is aimed at drivers who prefer a more raw, unfiltered exhaust note with less weight.
• It uses bullet-style resonators in the mid-pipes along with the same stainless stamped merge design and overall layout as the Touring Edition, but without the 180 Technology® drone-canceling system.
• Compared to stock, the system drops approximately 11 lbs.
• The 180 Technology® resonators are replaced with straight sections, which increases overall volume and sharpens the character during acceleration and deceleration.
• Mid-range response feels more aggressive, though the sound level can be excessive depending on tolerance.
• Due to the nature of the setup, Track Edition systems are not eligible for returns based on sound preference.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During its research and development process, AWE thoroughly analyzed how the factory exhaust valve operates across different driving conditions. They found that a valve isn’t necessary to achieve meaningful volume differences between modes. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode and opens once a certain throttle threshold is reached. In both Sport and Sport+ modes, it remains open, with Sport+ adding ECU-generated burbles. In the stock setup, exhaust gases are routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to minimize cabin noise and reduce drone-prone frequencies, while an open valve directs flow through the center section.
