Which PDK maps come with the PDK Accessport V3 for 991 GT3 models?

Two transmission calibrations are listed for the 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS: Simulated Stock and COBB Sport. The PDK Accessport V3 for 991 GT3 cars loads either one alongside the engine calibration, and COBB publishes PDK map notes describing how the Sport map changes the shift schedule.

Does it fit a manual GT3?

No. Every car on the confirmed application list for this part number has the PDK gearbox, covering the 991.1 GT3 from 2014 to 2016, the 991.1 GT3 RS for 2016 and the 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS for 2018 and 2019. No manual-transmission GT3 is listed.

Is the 991.1 GT3 RS covered?

Yes. COBB confirms the 991.1 GT3 RS with PDK for the 2016 model year, the only 991.1 year in which it appears on the list. The 991.2 GT3 RS is covered for 2018 and 2019, and the standard GT3 is listed from 2014 to 2016 and again for 2018 and 2019.

Is it legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists four CARB Executive Order numbers for this Accessport: D-660-58, D-660-92, D-660-142 and D-660-158. Together they allow sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when the device is used in accordance with the COBB application guide.

Will COBB Sport make the car harder to drive in traffic?

No, according to COBB. The Sport transmission map is built to improve the shift schedule during high throttle driving while keeping the tame but crisp behavior of the stock setup in normal driving. Owners who want no change at all can select Simulated Stock and keep the engine calibration.

Description

COBB Tuning PDK Accessport V3 for 991.1 / 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS

COBB Tuning’s PDK Accessport V3 for 991 GT3 and GT3 RS models flashes the engine and the dual clutch transmission across both phases of the car: the 991.1 GT3 from 2014 to 2016 and GT3 RS for 2016, and the 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS for 2018 and 2019. Its transmission side is restrained, offering Simulated Stock and COBB Sport. Four CARB Executive Orders, D-660-58, D-660-92, D-660-142 and D-660-158, make it legal in every state. For a GT3 driven hard on track, sharper full-throttle shifting is the reason to choose it over engine tuning alone.

PDK Calibration

COBB regards the Porsche dual clutch gearbox as one of the best factory transmissions fitted to a road car, and its calibration for the GT3 changes only what happens when the driver is pushing. The COBB Sport map applies an improved shift schedule during high throttle driving and keeps the tame but crisp stock behavior for normal use. On the PDK Accessport V3 for 991 GT3 models, both transmission options sit on the same handheld as the engine calibration.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
