The Öhlins Road & Track coilovers for BMW M2 Competition / CS are built for three of the most driver-focused cars BMW produced in that era. Each of these M cars arrives with serious performance hardware from the factory; the turbocharged inline-six, rear-wheel drive, and M-tuned chassis give you a strong foundation to build on. This kit gives that foundation the damping support it needs to perform at its best, on a circuit, on a mountain road, or on the daily drive in between.

How the DFV System Works

Öhlins’ Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology handles the transition between road and race damping with a single adjustment. Turning the gold knob clockwise engages race mode across all four damping zones at once: low-speed compression, high-speed compression, low-speed rebound, and high-speed rebound. Reverse it and the damper returns to a relaxed road setting. No tools, no separate adjustments per corner. On track, the DFV internals respond quickly to surface changes, keeping tires loaded through corners and stable under the hard braking these M cars are built for. Rear-wheel drive and a well-sorted weight distribution make the M2 particularly responsive to damping changes; this kit keeps the car balanced and predictable at the limit while giving you more confidence to push it there. Off track, the same system softens its response and absorbs road imperfections without the harshness that typically comes with the spring rates required for serious track use.

Suspension Specs and Adjustment Range

The front uses McPherson strut monotube upside-down technology, positioning the damper mass lower in the assembly to reduce unsprung weight and sharpen response. The significantly stiffer rear spring rate is there for a reason. The M2 carries considerable rear axle load under hard acceleration and cornering; the 190N/mm rate keeps the rear end planted and controlled under those conditions without compromising the balance these cars are known for. The 1-way 25-click adjuster covers both compression and rebound across all four corners, giving enough resolution to meaningfully change the feel of the car between road and track settings.
