Öhlins’ DFV Road & Track Coilovers for F80 BMW M3 and F82 / F83 M4 replace all four dampers and springs on the S55 coupe, sedan and convertible with Öhlins kit BMS MR40S1, and a gold knob on each damper switches it between street and track settings in seconds. The rear springs run more than twice the rate of the fronts, 1,085 lb/in against 514 lb/in. It suits the owner who drives to the circuit and home again; a dedicated race car is better served by a fully adjustable damper.

Design and Performance

The Dual Flow Valve lets one adjuster shift low and high speed compression and rebound together, so road and track settings are a knob turn apart rather than a session of separate changes. Separate damper length and preload adjusters set ride height at each corner.
