The ZACOE 570S is a tribute to McLaren’s 60th anniversary, incorporating design elements inspired by the M8D, a Can-Am race car driven by Bruce McLaren in 1970. In that era, downforce was achieved through external components, and Can-Am cars extended fenders into part of the spoiler to maximize stability and support. ZACOE applies this concept to the 570S, enhancing aerodynamics while maintaining structural integrity. The front lip draws inspiration from McLaren’s modern Formula 1 race cars, increasing front-end downforce and directing airflow around the wheels for improved stability. The vented fender design channels air generated during high-speed braking, a feature commonly seen in closed-wheel race cars. Simple geometric side skirts create a layered, striking aesthetic, eliminating the often-overlooked plainness in side profile photography. By combining classic McLaren design elements with modern aerodynamics, ZACOE delivers a bold widebody transformation that serves as a fitting tribute to McLaren’s racing heritage.

3D Scanning

• Once the model and concept are finalized, ZACOE Performance acquires an OEM vehicle and conducts an in-depth 3D scanning process to generate a highly accurate digital model. Using specialized scanning equipment, the precise contours and dimensions of the car’s exterior are captured, forming the foundation for the design process. Precision is paramount, as ZACOE Performance incorporates advanced internal mechanisms and bolt-on fitment, with the scanning process often requiring more than 40 hours per vehicle.

Digital Design & Testing

• With the digital model complete, ZACOE Performance designers develop initial concepts through hand-drawn sketches. These ideas are then refined using computer-aided design (CAD) software, allowing for the expansion and enhancement of bold design visions. Once the preliminary design is established, basic aerodynamic tests are performed using advanced simulation software to ensure a balance of innovation, quality, and sophistication.

Prototyping

• In the next stage, ZACOE Performance manufactures a physical prototype of the kit using ABS material. Each component is crafted with precision through specialized equipment such as 3D printers and CNC machines. The prototype is then assembled and thoroughly tested on the vehicle to verify fitment and functionality.

Mold-making

• Following rigorous testing and refinements, ZACOE Performance develops molds for the carbon fiber kit. The prototype serves as the foundation for crafting molds for each component, combining expert manual craftsmanship with advanced manufacturing technology. This meticulous process results in a lightweight, aerodynamically optimized carbon fiber kit that enhances both the aesthetics and performance of the vehicle.
