The Capristo W465 G 63 dual valved mufflers replace the rear muffler section on the W465 Mercedes-AMG G 63, giving the handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo the voice that a two-and-a-half-ton off-roader’s factory silencing keeps in check. Capristo manufactures the mufflers at its own factory in Sundern, Germany using 3D laser-scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending and milling, then manually TIG welds every joint and hand polishes the finished piece to a mirror finish. Construction is highest-grade T309 stainless steel, which Capristo notes shares resonance properties with Inconel, the alloy Formula 1 exhaust systems are built from, and the design carries a patented reinforcement aimed at eliminating resonance rather than relocating it further down the system. That reinforcement matters on the G 63, where a boxy cabin and a lot of steel around it make drone the usual penalty for a louder exhaust. Capristo has built exhaust systems out of its own factory in Sundern, Germany since 1990, starting with systems for Ferrari and other exotic manufacturers before expanding into BMW M and other high-performance platforms. Every system is designed in-house using 3D laser-scanning, CAD modeling, digital prototyping, and CNC bending and milling, then hand TIG welded and polished by Capristo’s own craftsmen rather than outsourced to a third-party fabricator. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates.
