The Flow Forming Process

• The process initiates with the secure attachment of a wheel-shaped mold to the rotating flow forming machine, which is carefully heated. Controlled pressure is then exerted on the barrel using hydraulic rollers, facilitating the gradual expansion of the wheel. Through meticulous stretching and compressing techniques, the material undergoes precise manipulation and adjustment to achieve the desired width. By extending the barrel material, the grain formation of aluminum is enhanced, resulting in a final composition that strikingly resembles a factory-produced wheel. This advanced process not only reduces weight but also enhances strength, providing a wheel that is lighter and stronger in construction.
