The Flow Forming Process

• The process initiates by securely affixing a wheel-shaped mold to the rotating flow forming machine, followed by careful heating. Hydraulic rollers are then utilized to exert pressure on the barrel, expanding the wheel gradually. To attain the desired width, the material undergoes precise manipulation and adjustment through meticulous stretching and compressing techniques. By extending the barrel material, the grain formation of aluminum is enhanced, resulting in a composition that is both lighter and stronger, bearing a remarkable resemblance to a wheel produced in a factory.
