The Flow Forming Process

• The process begins by securely attaching a mold shaped like a wheel to a rotating flow forming machine, which is heated with great care. Hydraulic rollers apply controlled pressure to the barrel, enabling a gradual expansion of the wheel. Through meticulous stretching and compression techniques, the material is skillfully manipulated and adjusted to attain the desired width. By extending the barrel material, the aluminum’s grain formation is improved, resulting in a final composition that remarkably resembles a wheel manufactured in a factory. This advanced process not only reduces weight but also strengthens the construction, providing a wheel that is both lighter and more robust.
