The Flow Forming Process

• The process begins by securely attaching a cast wheel to the flow forming drum and applying heat. Hydraulic rollers are then employed to exert pressure on the barrel, expanding the circumference of the wheel. Through careful stretching and compression techniques, the material of the wheel is manipulated to achieve the desired width. By stretching the barrel material, the grain structure of aluminum is enhanced, resulting in a stronger and lighter product similar to a forged wheel.
