The Flow Forming Process

• In the first step, a pre-made wheel is secured to the rotating barrel used for the forming process and heated. Next, in step two, hydraulic rollers exert pressure on the barrel to stretch the wheel. Step three involves carefully stretching and compressing the material of the wheel to achieve the desired width. Finally, in step four, the stretching of the barrel material improves the texture of the aluminum, creating a stronger and lighter barrel that is comparable to a forged wheel.
