The Flow Forming Process

• The process begins by securing a molded wheel onto the flow forming drum and applying heat. Hydraulic rollers, powered by hydraulic pressure, exert force on the wheel, compressing it against the barrel to shape it. The material of the wheel undergoes stretching and compression to achieve the desired width. By stretching the barrel composition, the grain structure of the aluminum is improved, resulting in a lighter and stronger barrel, similar to that of a forged wheel.

This meticulous process ensures adherence to SAE and TUV standards while preserving the optimal contour of the components.
