The Flow Forming Process

• In flow forming, a cast wheel is mounted on a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers apply tightly controlled pressure along the barrel. As it’s stretched to final width, the aluminum grain compacts and aligns, yielding a lighter, stronger barrel with near-forged performance.
